Remembering Donna Scott

Scott, Donna, 68, of Louisville passed away, Saturday July 1, 2017. She will be missed by many in the community.

Donna held a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Development and was the director at Christ Lutheran Preschool and Kindergarten for 32 years. She especially loved the children and influenced many lives over the past three decades. She held a position on the NAMI Board and headed up a social club at Bridgehaven for the mentally ill, where she also conducted support meetings for family members of the mentally ill. Donna felt that it was her mission to aid those whose lives were altered and wasted by the terrible effects of mental illness. She spent tireless hours working for her cause right up to the end.

Donna Scott gave a lot, but asked for nothing in return, she was a true champion to many. Her memory will be with us always. Her love and example will affect our lives forever, “And in the end the love you take, is equal to the love you make.”

She leaves behind her husband of 46 years Joe Scott; daughter, Kelly Scott; son, Joe A. Scott; granddaughter, Shelby June Scott; mother, Louisa Brunson; sister, Charlotte Brunson; sister-in-law, Julie Woods; brothers, Larry Woods and Joe Cherrie; father, Don Cherrie; stepmother, Sue Cherrie and a cousin, Gary Robert.

A service for Donna will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Christ Lutheran Church, 9212 Taylorsville Rd. with burial in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m.Thursday at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.

Donations in her memory to Christ Lutheran Church and NAMI would be greatly appreciated.
