NAMI Ending the Silence: (EST) is a 50 minute presentation designed for high-school-age-youth and is typically presented in the freshman/sophomore health classes during the mental health portion of the curriculum. This transformational program is devoted to giving students an opportunity to learn about mental illness through an informative PDF presentation, short videos, and personal testimony. Through the presentation, students learn symptoms and indicators of mental illness, and are given ideas about how to help themselves, friends, or family members who may be in need of support. In Our Own Voice (IOOV) is a free, unique public education presentation that offers insight into the hope and recovery possible for people living with mental illness. Trained individuals living with mental illness lead a brief, yet comprehensive and interactive, presentation about mental illness. Next trainings to be an In Our Own Voice presenter is July 11th/12th and August 8th/9th, both virtually and in-person. Deadline for Application is July 3rd and July 31st.
NAMI Connection: Recovery support groups for people living with mental illness in which people learn from each others’ experiences, share coping strategies, and offer each other encouragement and understanding. Next training to be a Connection Support Group facilitator August 1st and 2nd from 9am-5pm. Deadline to apply is July 25th.
NAMI Family to Family is a free eight-week educational program for parents, siblings, spouses, teenage and adult sons and daughters, partners, significant others and extended family members who are family caregivers of adult individuals diagnosed with Schizophrenia, Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Panic Disorder and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Co-Occurring Brain and Addictive Disorders.
NAMI Family Support Group
This training is for family members, caregivers and friends of persons living with a mental illness to facilitate meetings for family members, caregivers and friends of persons living with a mental illness. If you want to volunteer and give back to the community by being a FSG Facilitator, this training is for you. Next training to be a FSG facilitator will be July 24th-26th. Deadline to apply is July 18th.
